Minnetonka Sandal Sale

Minnetonka Sandals
Well we have too many sandals left from last year and we want them out the door to make room for our New Minnetonka Sandals.  We have slashed the prices on our remaining sandals but that is not all.  For a limited time get $5.00 flat rate ground shipping on all of our clearance sandals.   This shipping deal only applies to our Clearance Sandals and for a limited time only so buy them now!  Just think, you still get the great Minnetonka Style, but you pay a fraction of the cost that others pay.  If you loved the moccs you bought last year, now is the time to stockup and get a new pair of that style you loved.

Ice Castle is Finished

Well the Eagle River Ice Castle is finished.  You can see a video of it here:  http://www.keyc.com/node/46030
This is probably one of the greatest projects that Eagle River does each and every winter.  The fire department has to wait until the ice is the right thickness on Silver Lake before they can get the 2500 ice blocks used for making the castle.  They finished the castle in time for Friday Night Thunder at the Eagle River Championship snowmobile derby.  Hopefully lots of people stop to visit the Ice Castle and then visit the Arrow Gift Shop for some Minnetonka Moccasins and Peace Moccasins.  What would be really neat is if some of the snowmobile ladies stopped in to look at our Mariana Jewelry

Shack is out but no fish

That anticipated time of the year is hear when I can finally hang up my bow and get serious about ice fishing. We got the shack out last weekend, and we have drilled a lot of holes, but the walleye action is pretty darn slow.&nbsp; I don't know what to make of it yet.&nbsp; Maybe they just aren't hungry or maybe the weather isn't right yet.&nbsp; I do know that I'm still enjoying our shack up here is Eagle River, Wisconsin and I think my kids are loving it too.&nbsp;<img src="http://theblogbooster.com/pixel.gif" width="0" height="0" style="border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-width: initial; border-color: initial; " alt="" />

Peace Moccasins Updated

Well we finally got more of our Peace Moccasins updated on our new webpage www.moccasinsandgifts.com.  It takes us awhile to update our webpages sometimes.  We just wanted to remind everyone that although Minnetonka Moccasin does not allow us to ship our Minnetonka Moccasins overseas, we are allowed to ship our Peace Moccasins overseas.  Many of our overseas customers were disappointed by Minnetonka's decision.  As a company, they have accounts overseas and thought that our shipments interfered with these accounts.  Many of the Peace Moccasins are very similar to some of the Minnetonka styles.  All we are saying, is give peace a chance - - Lenon.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Well the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel posted a nice article about Eagle River here:  http://www.jsonline.com/features/travel/112674534.html. It is always nice when your town is recognized for its activity.  Eagle River has a population of only 1500 people but it seems like we have a major event going on every week of the year.  Coming up we have our World Championship Snowmobile Derby.  I can literally see the track from my classroom window and Northland Pines High School.  When the derby is in town, you can can hear the whine of the racing sleds anywhere in the Eagle River Area.

One thing I would like to see in our town as a business owner is one of the those hotels with the water parks built in.  It seems like our community is ready for one of those giant structures, I just hope that when they put one in it is somewhere downtown.  There seems to be a lot of unused real estate in the downtown Eagle River area.  I think people like to spend time in downtown Eagle River, but it seems like our town keeps wanting to move the people out of the downtown area.  A water park would be a perfect place for the thousands of winter visitors to stay and it would probably be full during Derby Weekend.  This would help make our downtown area a more vibrant area and in-turn our community would feel the benefits of having stores that aren't closed during the winter months.  Finally a place to shop for the Eagle River resident.  Our visitors love buying Minnetonka Moccasins  but they need more diversity to really enjoy the downtown experience

Go Wisconsin

Well yesterday was tough to watch.  The Big Ten really struggled, but the Badger TCU game was exciting.  I'm a little nervous about our Packers today.  With the Bucs win over the Saints, we need a win something fierce.  I hope all of the loyal Green Bay fans are cheering them on today against those dreaded Bears because we need a win to make the playoffs.

Shipping Internationally

Well we were just looking at our sales and we are down a significant percentage for the month of December.  We were a little frustrated with this so we sent a survey to our customers.  Many of our customers were frustrated that we don't ship overseas anymore.  That is not true.  We are only unable to ship Minnetonka Moccasins overseas.  Minnetonka has set up accounts in Europe and around the world.  To prevent us from competing with those accounts Minnetonka has asked us not to ship outside the US.  Even to Canada.  Essentially if we would have continued to ship Minnetonka Moccasins outside the U.S., they could take away our account and that would set us back substantially.

Tina Peace Moccasins
To help out our customers outside the U.S., we picked up another line very similar to Minnetonka.  In fact, this company was started by former employees of Minnetonka.  The line is called Peace MoccasinsPeace Moccasins are a high quality shoe and they are very good about keeping us stocked when we run out.  If you love Minnetonkas but are outside the U.S., I recommend Peace Moccasins.

New Years at Eagle Waters

I love Eagle Waters Resort in Eagle River, Wisconsin.  We got there often in the winter and the summer.  Our favorite time to go is when Diamond Pepper is playing.  Last night we did have a little bit of bad luck.  It was New Years Eve and we had reservations at 8:30.  We weren't seated until 9:30 and we didn't get our food until 11:30.  Lesson learned--We don't think we will be heading back to Eagle Waters on New Years Eve.

I still recommend going to Eagle Waters whenever you can--except New Years Eve.  They have a really neat patio that they freeze in the winter and it becomes an ice skating rink.  Very Norman Rockwell.  Most people just slide around on their boots.
